The European Central Bank’s (ECB) public survey on the design of the new euro banknotes has received record attention, with 9.96 million citizens participating.
The final appearance of the banknotes will be approved in late 2026, taking these results into account. The new money will enter circulation around 2029–2030, and current banknotes will remain valid indefinitely.
